Here in this article we are talking about the oldest and religious temple of Sirmour District Which is located on the top of the hill in the Churdhar and where a statue of Shirgul Maharaja’s are made which is the another name of Lord Shiva. This temple is related to some story and there are other places for the wondering and the best season to visit to this place in the summer.

Here in this article we are talking about the One of the oldest and religious temple of Sirmour district which is known as Churdhar temple or Shirgul Maharaja temple. In this article we are talking about the story behind this temple, how to reach this place and nearby places for the wondering around this temple.
History of the temple
This is one of the oldest temple in the state which is during the times of Mahabharata, behind this temple there is a big story. During the times of Mahabharata one person whose name is Churu go to this temple and he is with his son and they are sitting on the stone which is very big and suddenly a snake came there and they want to run but they are not able to run then the Shirgul Maharaja saw that a big snake is killing his pilgrimage then he break the stone into part on the one part of stone is fixed and the second part is fallen so the snake is killed and Churu and his son are safely go to home that's why this place is known as Churdhar. In this temple there is statue of Lord Shiva is situated on the top of hill, this temple is also known as Shirgul temple because it is the another name of Lord Shiva.
How to reach this place
You can reach there by bus. As this temple is located in the Sirmour district firstly you have to go to Nauradhar then after that you have to go walk or riding on the horse, from this place it is about 15-16 km which takes around 6 to 8 hours, you can also come from Sranha from it its distances is reduces to half. This place is on the solan-haripurdhar road, from solan nauradhar is about 60 km, in which there are so many places for the wondering and when you reach the nauradhar then after that you have to go to the top of the hill, in the ways there is forest and also there are two or three shops so don't go there alone and also go some fruits in your bags and take bottle for water, there are so many resources of water. So when you reached this place then there are so many places for the visit, firstly there is statue of Lord Shiva are made on the top of hill. When you came down to the hill then there so many big stones are present there and in the last there is temple where Shiva's Ling is present. From this place you can enjoy the Paragliding and beautiful view of mountains. The best season to visit this place in the summer because it is situated on the top of hill and in the winter there is heavy snowfall and even when you visit in the summer then wear warm clothes because there climate suddenly changes. There is a facility of living so don't worry about that.
