Highest polling station: Hikkim in Lahual and Spiti


In this article we are talking about the highest voting station in Lahaul and Spiti district which is about 4300 meter from the sea level and this place is so cold in the night temperature is below zero degree Celsius and in the day it is about 10 degree Celsius and also there is connectivity with the other district but election commission want that these people also give their vote.

So in this article we are talking about the highest voting station which is at a height of about 4300 meter from the sea level.

As you all know that this is time of election in the Himachal and all the party addressing the people but Friday is the last day for campaign and addressing, various leader from different party came HP and addressing the people, so for this purpose there are several voting places are held in which voting is going to held on the 4th of the November on the Sunday, and the counting of this election will start on the 20th December. So we are talking about the highest voting station Hikkim means this place is situated at a height of 4300 meter from the sea level and in Himachal this village is situated on the top of the hill where about only 350 people lives out of which there are 200 men and 150 women's are present. This village is situated in the Lahaul and Spiti where 6 candidates are present. It has no direct connectivity with the outside world and the Election Commission has armed its polling team with very high frequency sets and satellite phones to conduct Assembly poll. The Hikkim polling station comprises three villages of Komik, Langche and Hikkim. The night temperature dips below minus 5°C while the day temperature is 15°C here. There are 20 polling stations - 13 in Spiti sub-division and seven in Lahaul - in this cold district that had no direct connectivity, said district election officer-cum-DC, Lahaul-Spiti, SS Guleria. As this place on very height and the temperature of this place is so low and in this place only 350 Tibetans are living which are now citizen of India. This place can be ignored but the election commission of India want full voting that's why they made there a polling station so that the people of that area can also give their valuable vote and select a good leader which will make the progress in that area also election commission of India providing so many security for all the voting station so that election will takes place safely. So on the 4th November on Sunday it is the duty of every citizen to give their valuable vote and select a good leader which will make the development of the state as well as country, so give your vote on the Sunday.
