Shitala Mata temple in ChambaAs you know that Himachal is a land of temple, in this state there are so many temple in different district, out of which we are talking about one of the religious temple of Chamba district which is known as Shitala Mata temple. This temple is about 2km behind from the Chamba on the left side of the Sitala Bridge. In this temple there is a statue of Shitala mata, Lord Hanuman and others god photos are placed in the different temple. History of Shitala Mata temple
This temple is situated on the left side of the Sitala bridge in Chamba which is about 2 km behind from the local bus stand. This temple was built was built in the beginning of the 18th century during that time there is no building only one statue of Shitala Mata is placed under the tree. It is thought that in the ancient times she has some extraordinary power but in her whole life she never miss use of that. She only use this for the right thing after one day she died and the people of that area placed her statue below the tree and every morning they came here and prays for 1 or 2 minute. After that the country has progressed and the government of the Himachal made building for this temple. There is a three separate room in the temple, so when you came there then in the middle room there is a statue of Shitala mata is placed, on the right side statue of Sherawali Mata is placed and the left side there is Shiv ling is placed, and in front of the temple the Lord Hanuman statue is placed on the cement pillar which is about 15 meter in height, there is also another where Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman photos are placed. In the back of the temple there is a natural source of water is flowing where you can bath and drink the water. Also on the right of the temple there is a big statue of Lord Shiva's are placed on the stone which is about 20 meter in height and it is polished with bronze solution and on the left side of the temple there is ground where all the functions are held in the day or also in the night.
How to reach this place
This temple is about 2km behind from the Chamba. It is situated on the left side of the Shitala Bridge. You can reach this by bus or taxi. When you reach the Chamba then you can also reach this place by bus or taxi or even from the Chamba Chowgan it is about 300 meter down from the Chamba Gate and the best season to visit this temple is in the month of May and June and come with some warm clothes because in the evening there may be wind blow so remember all things in your mind when you are visiting this place.
