Various Historical Monuments in Chamba district


Here we are talking about one of the best district of Himachal Pradesh which is known as Chamba, in this district there are so many historical monuments are present. So in this article we are talking about some of them which are Bhuri Singh museum, Rang Mahal and Chamba gate.

Here in this article we are talking about some historical monuments of the Chamba district which are given below.
Rang Mahal
This is one of the best monument that was created in the chamba by the local king of the chamba in the about 17th century, there are two Mahal one is made of red color and another is made of green color and the distance between these two Mahal is about 300 meter. In the ancient or during the Raja's times, in this Mahal there are all the meeting is takes place. The infrastructure of the green mahal is so good and the rooms are made so large as compared to normal room and it is of two storeys, this is in square shape and in the middle there is a little fountain which is covered with flowers, in this mahal there is only one entrance door and one exit door are present. While the red color Mahal is in round shape and it is of 3 storeys. But now a day these are the property of government and in the green color mahal there are PG classes and other degree classes are takes place while in the red color mahal it is a government office and also there handy craft classes are takes places.
Bhuri singh Museum
This museum was built by the Local raja of Chamba district in the 18th century and the name of the raja was Bhuri Singh that's why this is so called Bhuri Singh museum. As you know museum is a place where our past cultural things are kept safe and are shown to the people or our next generation. So in this museum there are so many things are placed which is used by the Raja. In it there are also photo galleries in which all the photo of the entire Raja and their queens are shown in the photo. On the other the jewelry and the clothes are shown which wear the Raja. There are also shown the weapons which are used by them during the war. This all things are first placed in the old museum but now the government has made a new museum and all the things are shifted to it.
Historical Chamba Gate
This gate was built by the British government during the 17th century. When this gate is built then for this district this is the only way to came here, there is no other way to come this city. The architecture of this gate is so beautiful. It is completely made of the stone; these stones are colored with red color. This gate is about 30 feet in height and about 15 foot wide. Top of this gate is in circular shape, on the top of this gate there is a two little statue are placed. This gate is made in the middle of the Chamba district, on the left side of this gate there is a historical Chamba Chowgan and on the right side of this gate there is a fire brigade office are present.
