Agricultural colleges to be open in the Kullu and Sirmaur district of HP
Chaudhary Sarvan Kumar (CSK) Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University which is situated in the Palampur in Kangra district has recently announced that in the coming few they will open the two new agricultural colleges in the state. These colleges will be open in the Kullu and Sirmaur district of HP. This university was established in the 19th century and was the second agricultural university in the state after the Dr. YS Parmar UHF in the Solan district, which is Asia's first university of Horticultural and Floricultural and which was established in the 1970.
The Chief of the university said that in the last year so many students were applied for the agricultural but due to few colleges and less number of posts so many candidates was not able to get the seats in the agricultural departments. So we have decided to open few agricultural colleges across the state. And he also said that these colleges will be ready for the admission in the coming few year and we hope that large number of candidates will joined these agricultural colleges.
He also said by opening such colleges in the state will also improve the agriculture in the state and farmer of the state will get so many varieties of seeds and other vegetables. Farmer of the state is aware about the agriculture and they are told about the advantage and disadvantages of the agricultural.
Union Agricultural Minister, Chandresh Kumari said that government will give $ 40 million for the college to open a new science museum in the university campus in which so many varieties of the seeds and other vegetables were placed and when peoples visited the university than they are told about the new types of the seeds. So it is good opportunity for the candidates of Himachal Pradesh to have such university with museum. University will also open a 50 KW of Solar with 90% subsidy from the Union Ministry of Non-Conventional Sources Energy which will provide the energy for the hostel and departments.
These new colleges to be open at the Bajura in the Kullu district and Dhaulakaun in the Sirmaur district. Initially these colleges will conduct the graduation courses but later there are so many new courses will be introduced. The admissions for these new colleges are also done on the basis of written examination conducted by the central university.
On the occasion of this, head of the CSK University also announced that inter-institutional research center to be open in the university, hybrid seeds of the various crops to be placed in the university and distance education is the main motive of the university.
