Shimla: Queen of Hills
Shimla is the capital of the state and was situated on the hilly areas. During the times of British, Shimla was the winter capital of the country. This is one of the famous summer places for the wondering in the state. As this place is the capital of the state, so all the administrative and government organization's offices are situated. The famous places to visits here are Ridge ground which is situated on the top of the hill and below this ground there is a large water storage tank is placed. From this you can see the view of lower Shimla. Here all the ceremony of the republic day and Independence Day will be takes. On the back of ridge there is a church, state library and cinema hall is present, on the left of the ridge there is Lakkar market where you can buy different wooden things, in front of the ridge there is mall road where so many shopping complexes and Gaiety theater is present. About one and half km from this place there is a famous Hanuman temple in the Jakhoo where idol of the Hanuman is built which is about 90 feet in height. You can also enjoy skating in the Ice skating club. There are so many nearby places for the wondering such Kufri fun world, Tatta Pani and Sankat Mochan temple etc. this place is totally connected with other parts of the state by bus, train as well aero plane. This place is basically famous for the heavy snow fall and other sports adventures. Khajjiar: Mini Switzerland of Khajjiar
Khajjiar is also known as the Mini Switzerland of the state and is situated in the Chamba district. This place is also famous for the snowfall, lake and temples. Here in this place there is one of the biggest natural lake of the state is situated in the middle of the ground, no one knows the depth of this lake. This lake is surrounded by the deodar and oak trees. In front of this lake there is a temple of Nag Devata is situated and is one of the oldest temples of the Chamba district. There are about 2 or 3 three more temples of different Gods were also present. Here in this place you will see one of the longest statues of the Lord Shiva's, which is about 85 feet in height and colored with bronze solutions.
You can also enjoy the different sports adventure like horse riding, balloon riding, boating and Para gliding etc. you can also play football cricket and other games in the ground with your friends. There are limited number of buses are available from the Chamba but you can easily get the taxi or cab for this place very easily and it is about 25 km from the Chamba.
It is also one of the famous tourist spot for the summer vacations. The name of the place was given after the name of Lord Dalhousie who was the governor of the British government. In this place there are about three churches are situated. There is also a small zoo where you can see different varieties of fish, mice, rabbit, birds, parrots and cocks. There are so many nearby places for the wondering like Punchpulla where you can enjoy the boating in the lake, tracking on the hills and also you can enjoy shooting. This place is about 3 km from the Dalhousie. You can also visits the Kalatop where a wildlife sanctuary is situated in which you can see the leopard and black beers. There are so many buses are available for this place from the different parts of the state.
It is also one of the famous spot for the summer vacations; this place is basically famous for the panoramic view of the mountains which are always covered with snow. Here in this place you can also see the state's first ever International Cricket stadium. This place is basically famous for the Maclorganj where Tibetan people's lives.
